A Home Run Coin: Rare FT Variety, Beautiful Toning, NGC Star! Gorgeously toned in teal, magenta, lemon, and apricot on the obverse, with a brilliant reverse. The Blunt 9 variety is defined by the squared-off tail on the 9, rather than the pointed version. Rare in FT, and this is the single finest known! While the population breakdown of non-FT coins shows a split down the middle; with 38 of the Pointed 9 and 36 Blunt 9 in all grades, the numbers change drastically when looking at FT examples.
There are 71 of the Pointed 9 in FT, and 11 of the Blunt 9, in all grades. Further, there is just one, this piece, with a Star!
