1980 P Roosevelt Dime ERROR Coin
1980 P Roosevelt Dime ERROR Coin. The fair condition of this 1980 coin leaves something to be desired. It shows signs of wear, has minor nicks and scratches, and has almost completely lost the finer detailing on both sides of the coin. What makes this coin worth a second glance is the weight of it's errors. Our first error that most certainly can't be overlooked is a doubled die that exists on both sides of the coin. Neither of the sides scream at you, but they do make a little noise. Next up - the coin has a few stamping or die errors throughout the phrase E. PLURIBUS UNUM, whereas the letters E. " "P" "L" "U" are much less sharp (clear) than the letters "R" "I" and "B", while the letters "U" "S" "U" "N" "U" and "M are nearly non existent. Now I know you may think this can be attributed to everyday wear and tear, but can it really? If you think about the coin's reverse design, wouldn't the wear and tear be evident across the entire phrase? How could there be wear on all of those letters, but leave the letters RIB that are in the middle of the phrase? And, what about the branches and torch?

Wouldn't they have to be worn down as well? After all, the design sits higher than the lettering Hmm. It makes you wonder, right?

This coin may not be anything you were looking for, but it just might be everything you need to add some pizzazz to your collection. Did I forget to mention that the mint mark "P" is filled in?
